Hoodia Gordinii, is That for Real ???

Hoodia Godinii, is that for Real???

There is a lot of talk about Hoodia. But with all these info on internet do you know if it it really works.

Hoodia Gordinii comes from a cactus plant in the kalahari desert in South Africa and Namibia. People there suck on the plant and they feel less hungry and thirsty.

Some scientists have located the molecule responsible of this effect and they gave the name P57. The absorption of the Hoodia Gordinii gives the same effect than the glucose but with a stronger effect. I have read a few times this information but I have not sure about it: Hoodia Gordinii have an effect 2,000 more stronger than the glucose. A satiety signal is sent to the hypothalamus and the appetite is really lower.

In fact some serious studies have been done by the Dutch food conglomerate Unlever and Phytopharma a daughter company of the US well known pharmaceutical company Pfizer. Most of the candidates have noticied instead of consuming what they normally do their calories where about in half.

The result to lose weight is quite good but it is not specified what king of Hoodia was used and it is quite good to know:

- There are other Hoodia plants but only the Hoodia Gordinii has this effect

- The Hoodia supplements are not regulated by the F.D.A. (Food and Drug Administration)

- Only the Hoodia dex-l-10 has a permit from the department of agriculture in South Africa and claiming this it is genuine Hoodia Gordinii

NOW HERE IS THE TRICK. Like the Hoodia Gordinii extract is quite expensive, some manufacturers of those pills use other Hoodia extracts (from other Hoodia plant). In this case those pills don’t contains this P57 molecule and they are therefore without any effect. They only specify Hoodia in their article and product. In this case, drop it. YOU ARE JUST IN FRONT OF MANUFACTURERS WITHOUT ANY SCRUPLE.

But when it is as well mentioned Hoodia Gordinii I am quite scrupulous and suspicious. Are you very sure those products contain the real Hoodia Gordinii ??? There perhaps are a few correct companies but who knows. I have for you a few advices in this internet jungle:

- Internet pharmaceutical portals which are selling other products like valium, cialis, viagra, just drop it. They are only there to make profit and there are quite specialized to spam people in an huge way

- Compare the price of different Hoodia Gordinii pills. As the Hoodia Gordinii Extract is quite expensive, the genuine Hoodia Gordinii pills can’t be too cheap

- For the time being, only the Hoodia dex-l-10 can give the security that real Hoodia Gordinii is used. Or let me know if you know other correct manufacturers with the righ proof

- Unilerver in his diet division has in mind to deliver an Hoodia Gordini pill but not before the end of the research and it seems it will come in 2008-2009 and here with the reputation of the company this is quite a huge level of warranty!!!!!

What you need to know about hoodia gordonii. Hoodia gordonii (pronounced HOO-dee-ah) is also called hoodia, xhooba,  !khoba, Ghaap, hoodia cactus, and South

African desert cactus.

Hoodia is a cactus that’s causing a stir for its ability to suppress appetite  and promote weight loss. 60 Minutes, ABC, and the BBC have all done stories on

hoodia. Hoodia is sold in capsule, liquid, or tea form in health food stores and  on the Internet. Hoodia gordonii can be found in the semi-deserts of South

Africa, Botswana, Namibia, and Angola. Hoodia grows in clumps of green upright  stems and is actually a succulent, not a cactus. It takes about 5 years

before  hoodia’s pale purple flowers appear and the cactus can be harvested. Although  there are 20 types of hoodia, only the hoodia gordonii variety is

believed to  contain the natural appetite suppressant.

Although hoodia was “discovered” relatively recently, the San Bushmen of the  Kalahari desert have been eating it for a very long time. The Bushmen, who live

off the land, would cut off part of the hoodia stem and eat it to ward off  hunger and thirst during nomadic hunting trips. They also used hoodia for severe

abdominal cramps, haemorrhoids, tuberculosis, indigestion, hypertension and  diabetes.

In 1937, a Dutch anthropologist studying the San Bushmen noted that they used  hoodia to suppress appetite. But it wasn’t until 1963 when scientists at the

Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), South Africa’s national  laboratory, began studying hoodia. Initial results were promising — lab

animals  lost weight after taking hoodia.

The South African scientists, working with a British company named  Phytopharm, isolated the active ingredient in hoodia, a steroidal glycoside,  which they

named p57. After getting a patent in 1995, they licensed p57 to  Phytopharm. Phytopharm has spent more than $20 million on hoodia research.

Eventually pharmaceutical giant Pfizer (makers of Viagra) caught wind of  hoodia and became interested in developing a hoodia drug. In 1998, Phytopharm

sub-licensed the rights to develop p57 to Pfizer for $21 million. Pfizer  recently returned the rights to hoodia to Phytopharm, who is now working with

Unilever.

What you need to know about hoodiaHoodia appears to suppress appetiteMuch of the buzz about hoodia  started after 60 minutes correspondent Leslie Stahl and

crew traveled to Africa  to try hoodia. They hired a local Bushman to go with them into the desert and  track down some hoodia. Stahl ate it, describing it

as “cucumbery in texture,  but not bad.” She lost the desire to eat or drink the entire day. She also  didn’t experience any immediate side effects, such as

indigestion or heart  palpitations. Stahl concluded, “I’d have to say it did work.”

In animal studies, hoodia is believed to reduce caloric intake by 30 to 50  percent. There is one human study showing a reduced intake of about 1000

calories per day. However, I haven’t been able to find either study to actually  read for myself and am going on secondhand reports.

What is pure hoodia gordonii? Weight loss

expert Philip McDonald explains how Hoodia

could help you loose weight.

Hoodia is found in southern regions of Africa and a member of the cactus plant family. Over the last couple of years, Hoodia has overtly been used in the weight loss market and has gained huge popularity as a dieting supplement. If you are in search of correct information on Hoodia products, you must have come across much contradictory and misinformation on the internet about Hoodia.

The CBS and even 60 minutes broadcast program on using Hoodia as an “appetite suppressant” has spread mayhem like wildfire across the globe the amazing effect of this plant as a weight reduction agent. Because of this quick popularity that Hoodia has achieved one can very easily now find different brands of Hoodia products showing up everyday. Various in depth research suggest Hoodia products are very effective for reducing weight.

One who intends to purchase hoodia products s/he has to consider many important factors prior to the purchase to become a smart buyer.

One has to make sure that s/he is getting real Hoodia so one can enjoy the weight loss benefits and not squander the money around. The Hoodia product comparison chart is compiled with the best priced Hoodia at the top and the cheap priced product at the bottom. It is essential to consider that although price is important, testing and other factors are equally important points prior to the purchase of Hoodia.

The Desert Burn Hoodia brand we found for random independent testing has received most certification so far. Both the Desert Burn Hoodia and Hoodoba Pure passed Alkemist Pharmaceuticals independent test of authenticity. The certification and testing are important factors to establish the authenticity of different brands of Hoodia products. Now a lot of Hoodia consumers are also vocal on being able to return Hoodia Products if they don’t work for them. The three big Hoodia product companies that assure the best return policies were Hoodia 750, with a 200% Guarantee and both Optimum Hoodia and Hoodia XR are the only two brands available in the market to allow return of opened bottles.

Wouter Van Dyck wrote many articles about different weight loss plans. He has experienced dozens of programs himself over the years but finally found a solution. You can read more by visiting the Hoodia diet pills review website:Hoodia Diet Pills Review.
